BSPTS NORTH AMERICA Region
The United States Rigo Concept-BSPTS teachers have a long and strong history. Our experience as individual BSPTS clinicians date back to 2004. After years of clinical practice, we began teaching courses under the curriculum of Dr. Rigo in 2010. We started our first US cooperative teaching group, Scoliosis Education Seminars, in 2013, which evolved to Schroth Barcelona Institute, LLC in 2016, and as of 2024, currently doing business as BSPTS-North America Rigo Concept. www.bsptsnorthamerica-rigoconcept.com
The Rigo Concept North American teachers have made great strides in our region to improve the quality education for cost effective treatment for those who have the condition of scoliosis. Our teachers have educated, as of 2025, over 800 students. Our students rate our courses highly for teacher experience, lab practice, content quality and organization. There are a growing number of US institutions sending therapists to Rigo Concept-BSPTS courses in order to develop new business and implement high quality scoliosis care into their facilities.
In addition to having offered BSPTS curriculum to physical therapists, the North American Rigo Concept – BSPTS teachers volunteer to further promote education for all health care professionals through short courses, university lectures, presentations at health care institutions, and courses at professional meetings such as the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). All of the instructors have been active participants, speakers, poster presenters, and members of Society of Scoliosis Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Treatment (SOSORT). Further many have served on either the SOSORT board, SOSORT education or communications committees. Along with our website we stay connected in the scoliosis community through Instagram, Facebook, and Linked-In.
The North America Group currently has 3 teachers that offer courses that span North America. We teach our courses at our own local clinics and at host facilities around the country. Additionally, we have several teachers in the process of training to become future leaders in North America. Let us know if you would like to join in our mission to spread the word about conservative management for scoliosis. AmySbihli@bspts.net Regional Manager for Rigo Concept – BSPTS North America.
