Level 1 with Niamh McGowan, Emma Crawford, Roisin Egan and Garikoitz Aristegui in Dublin, Ireland
In March 2026, BSPTS Rigo Concept Level 1 course was successfully hosted at McGowan Physio in Dublin. This is the second time to run the L1 course in Ireland. The course was delivered over six days across two weekends, providing an intensive and structured introduction to Physio Scoliosis Specific Exercise and the principles of the Rigo Concept.
The first three days of the course were taught by Garikoitz Aristegui, alongside Niamh McGowan, Emma Crawford and Roisin Egan. Emma, Roisin, and Niamh continued teaching across all six days, ensuring continuity throughout the programme. Together, the teaching team provided clear guidance on scoliosis classification, The Rigo Concept and how to treat scoliosis using a conservative, evidence-based approach.
The course welcomed six highly experienced physiotherapists. The small group size allowed for focused teaching, active participation, and in-depth discussion, creating an excellent learning environment.
A valuable component of the course was the practical application of exercises for scoliosis, with participants developing hands-on skills in assessment and treatment. An additional highlight was the involvement of teenagers with scoliosis during one afternoon session, offering participants the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real clinical context.
The programme focused on non surgical scoliosis treatment, equipping participants with practical tools and strategies to integrate into their clinical practice. All participants successfully completed the course and passed their final examination.
This course reflects the ongoing commitment to high-quality education in scoliosis management and the continued development of clinicians in delivering specialised physiotherapy for scoliosis using the BSPTS Rigo Concept approach.
