Level 1 with Kadriye Sahin Yorgun in İstanbul, Turkey
Rigo Concept BSPTS Level 1 Course – Istanbul, Türkiye
The Rigo Concept BSPTS Level 1 Course was successfully held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from February 10th to 15th, under the instruction of PT Kadriye Şahin Yorgun. The course brought together physiotherapists from various cities across Türkiye, creating a highly dynamic and collaborative learning environment. A total of 10 physiotherapists participated in this intensive six-day educational program.
Throughout the course, participants were introduced to the fundamental principles of scoliosis and its three-dimensional nature. Detailed sessions were dedicated to understanding scoliosis classification, prognosis, and evidence-based decision-making processes. The theoretical framework of the Rigo Concept BSPTS approach was comprehensively presented.
Practical workshops constituted a major component of the training. Participants had the opportunity to develop hands-on skills in postural correction, corrective breathing, expansion techniques, and scoliosis-specific exercise applications. Clinical reasoning and patient-specific treatment planning were strongly emphasized.
The course also focused on treatment management strategies, including individualized exercise prescription and long-term follow-up planning. Participants enhanced their competencies in observing, analyzing, and correcting scoliotic postural patterns using BSPTS principles.
The learning process was highly interactive, encouraging clinical discussion, peer learning, and supervised practice. By the end of the program, participants had gained essential skills for the conservative treatment and physiotherapeutic management of scoliosis.
We were honored to welcome dedicated physiotherapists to the Rigo Concept family of the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School. Their motivation, engagement, and commitment to advancing scoliosis care contributed greatly to the success of the course.
This course once again highlighted the growing interest in BSPTS education in Turkiye and the importance of expanding high-quality scoliosis rehabilitation training internationally.
