Level 1 with Kadriye Sahin Yorgun in Istambul, Turkey
The Rigo Concept BSPTS Level 1 Course was successfully held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 1–6 September under the instruction of Kadriye Şahin Yorgun PT, CPO, MSc. The intensive six-day program was completed with the participation of nine physiotherapists and one physical medicine and rehabilitation physician from different cities across Türkiye.
Throughout the course, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of scoliosis as a three-dimensional spinal and trunk deformity. The program covered the definition and characteristics of scoliosis, progression and prognostic factors, the clinical importance of growth and skeletal maturity, and the fundamental principles of scoliosis management.
Based on the educational framework of the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School, the course introduced the theoretical and clinical principles of the Rigo Concept BSPTS. Participants learned how to assess different curve patterns, identify postural compensations, establish individualized treatment goals, and plan Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises according to each patient’s needs.
The practical sessions focused on three-dimensional postural correction, curve-specific positioning, expansion techniques, rotational breathing, stabilization, and the integration of corrected posture into daily activities. Through demonstrations, supervised practice, and case-based discussions, participants developed valuable skills for the treatment and long-term management of individuals with scoliosis.
We sincerely congratulate all participants for their dedication, enthusiasm, and active involvement throughout this intensive training. We are delighted to welcome nine physiotherapists and one physician to the growing Rigo Concept BSPTS community and wish them every success in applying their newly acquired knowledge and skills in clinical practice.
