A successful Rigo Concept BSPTS (Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School Level 1 Course was held February 4-9, 2025 in San Jose, California. It was hosted by Nancy Sherratt, PT at Scoliosis Rehab and taught by Beth Janssen, PT. The class focused on classification of the curve patterns according to the Rigo System of Classification, Assessment techniques used to quantify the problems and postural asymmetries that can occur in Scoliosis, Understanding the important radiological findings that will influence curve patterns, Postural retraining with alignment considerations and PT Scoliosis Specific Exercises. This method is based on the Schroth Method and focuses on the Evolution of that Method as described by the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School, led by Dr. Rigo. The team approach is stressed.
The PT’s who completed this course are now equipped to classify scoliosis curves in young people and design an appropriate PT treatment program according to the Rigo Concept.
