Adult Spinal Deformities
Adult Scoliosis is defined as a curvature in the coronal plane of 10 degrees or more in an skeletally mature patient (SRS beyond 17 years and 11 months)
Includes theoretically any type of scoliosis developed during growth, beyond the age of 17 years and 11 months.
Degenerative ‘De Novo’ Scoliosis (mostly lumbar/THL)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Addressed to health professionals, Medical Doctors, Physiotherapist, Orthotics Technicians and others, interested in going deep in Adult Spinal Deformities.
COURSE DURATION AND FEATURES
You can do the course at your own pace. The limit time to do it is: 4 weeks.
The pedagogical contents, 5 videos in total, 30-60 minutes average each, during 5 units, with one self assessment in each unit.
To obtain the final certification a Final Knowledge Exam must be done.
SPECIFIC OBJETIVES
Train the students to:
- Be an active member of a multidisciplinary team, for the treatment of the Adult Spinal Deformities.
- Understand the natural history and disability of the morphological alterations of the spine in the sagittal plane, as well as the Adult Deformities.
- Assess and interpret the radiographic parameters and AsD classification.
- Understand the importance of the use of scientific evidence in the non-surgical treatment of the AsD.
